I bought this filter several years ago in Canada with grand plans to get into the Rockies, which then never happened. Family and kids have meant that no hiking has taken place for ages and now it's time to spring-clean. Pity, as this is a very light-weight, easy to operate unit which has very few parts and almost nothing to go wrong with it.
The filter is unused and in perfect condition, and I've listed is as 'used' purely in the interests of total transparency that it has been with owner.
Whilst one can use iodine tablets and suchlike to purify wild water, a filter is better to get rid of particle matter like bacteria and Giardia. This company, Pur, was since bought out by Katadyn, who now sell the identical product which sells for around £70 on Amazon UK. I'm selling this for £45 including postage in the UK if you're not local, which I think is a really good deal.
