Native hand carved African Elephant under a Palm Tree on wooden base.
African hardwood, probably mahogany or rosewood.
34 cm. high x 28 cm. long x 20 cm. deep.
In excellent condition for its age, but slight repaired damage to left ear and tail plus right ear has very small piece missing.
Palm tree comes apart for shipping and the elephant and palm trunk separates from the base.
Bought in Ghana or Nigeria whilst on active service during World War II, (1942-43)
