Sally is an Irish Sports Pony who is a sweetheart to handle but can be strong although never bucks rears or does anything nasty. My 11 year old rides her and still occasionally competes her but she is a capable jockey which is what she needs. For various reasons we don't have the time to spend with Sally who we bought as a SJ pony but very quickly realised she was more of a project. She needs someone to take her on on that basis. She is really easy to do on the ground and we have been confident to allow our children to handle her in every way.
We have owned her since early 2015 had her 5 stage vetted and is completely sound and well - she has had no injuries or illness with us. She is very good in traffic, to box, clip and shoe.
She has competed and won up to 80cm and has 29 BS Points on just a few outings, but as I said she is strong and so would need a capable and experienced rider and if you are not firm with her she will run out but if you ride her she is not fazed by fillers etc but give her an inch and she will be inconsistent.
Alternatively, she would make a great lead rein pony as she is very well behaved in hand However, she is definitely not a first pony off the lead rein. My daughter is now jumping Newcomers and we don't have the time to give her the work and experience she needs particularly as I am now having to work away from home
We are extremely fond of her so I am hoping someone will take her on and spend time with her as a project.
I am open to suggestions if we can find her a loving and experienced home willing to put in some work. I am happy to consider people who would want her to sell on provided it was on the basis of a commitment to work with her for a considerable time before doing so. She is not at all spooky and is great in traffic. I have also placed her on Homes 4 Horses so you may also see her listed with that reference. Thank you for reading and please do contact me if Sally is of interest. I would want her to go to a home where she would be stabled overnight I winter. Thank you
