Complete 3 Tome set of the classic GERMINAL, by Émile Zola. Tome/ Volumes l and ll are dated 1935, Volume /Tome lll is 1930. Fantastic condition for their age.

In French, printed in Paris, edited by Flammarion (26, Rue Racine, Paris),and produced for 2 francs per tome by Select-Collections. They are numbered sequentially as No.57, No.58, and No.59. Plain unglossy paper pages and covers. Covers with black and white drawings to fronts and backs, soft covers.

Originally published in 1885, this is an uncompromisingly harsh and realistic story of a coalminer's strike in 1860 in Northern France & considered Zola's masterpiece.
More usually found in a single hardback form, and not in this 3 part soft cover format. I can't find any soft cover copies at all in the UK on book sites, never mind the complete set of 3, although some single later copies are available from France. I couldn't find any from 1930 or 1935.

The ones that are available are currently selling for around £10-15 each, but without detailed pictures it's very hard to know what you're getting with generic book-seller descriptions.

Pls look at the photos here to appreciate the condition of all three of these amazing tomes, & read my detailed description - msg for more info, there’s a character limit here.

All three tomes / volumes / books are in overall excellent condition for their age, with no pages missing & all covers present and intact.

Unbroken spines, though all have some degree of rubbing to top and bottom ends.

No writing, notes, inscriptions, etc. No tears to pages, no corners turned down. All staples are good, with no rust.

Any questions, please ask.
