Fourth reprint, July 1964, of the 1961 original book.
Pages excellent, with only a couple of minor marks, no rips or tears.
Much of the book evidently hasn't been read, I had to use a stylus to hold it open to take photos, because it kept springing back closed. One place where spine has broken, on the "Outstanding Americans" pages, p.118-119, but nowhere else where the book lies flat when open.
Both front and rear covers have seen better days, but have done their job of protecting the pages very well.
Rear cover has multiple creases, top right hand corner has bent over at some point, most of the creases are more visible on the outside of the cover and the inside doesn't look too bad at all. The creases on the outside of the back cover sem to be coloured grey.
Spine is broken in the one place I've mentioned, small 1cm tear top front edge 0.5cm tiny pull-rub-tear to top back edge. 4mm tear to bottom front spine, and rubbing of about 1cm. Back bottom edge rubbed. Front spine edge rubbed.
Front cover creased, dinted, marked, again almost not visible on the inside of the cover. Top and bottom corners have been folded over.
Pages 87, 89, 91, have very minor corner turn-downs, these aren't deliberate turn-downs made to mark a page, these have been accidentally bent over, and p.87 is the worst one, with pages after showing ever-smaller turn-downs decreasing in size.
Just noticed that the title page is loose at the bottom, by about 2cm.
