Oxfam Bookshop Harrogate Romae Antiquae Notitia: or, The Antiquities of Rome. The Second Edition with Large Additions. An early copy of this late 17th century account "In Two Parts. I. A short History of the Rise, Progress, and Decay of the Common-Wealth. II. A Description of the City.... With Copper Cuts of the principal Buildings, &c. To which are prefix'd Two Essays..". Full brown leather, ?original. Spine has 4 raised bands, burgundy/gilt title label. Scuffed and worn; front spine edge split, board held in place by recent paper strip repair to inner hinge/ffep. Binding otherwise secure. Expected browning, a few small marks, small tape repair to a split lower page edge but overall internally well preserved and unmarked. Neat owner name and date (1700) top title page, "1699" lower margin; 2 other names front pastedown. [36], 376, [24]; 11 etched plates including 6 foldout. See Oxfam website for delivery information
