Oxfam Shop Poole The MARN'LL BOOK gives a unique picture of life in the Blackmore Vale. It was produced from material collected by Marnhull Women's Institute to commemorate the Festival of Britain 1951. A copy was presented to the Queen at Gillingham in 1952. The book contains history, some general topography, a number of photographs and maps. It describes Marnhull and the Vale in its geographical and historical setting and provides detail on things such as the churches, schools, local buildings, clubs, societies, field and place names, industries, customs and superstitions.
