When you are looking to buy a new pet, whether they are small or large, you should consider rehoming a pet first. Pets mean a lot to us here in the UK, but sometimes, giving your pet the full love and attention it needs can be taxing and this can lead to owners making the heartbreaking decision to rehome their beloved animals.
So if you are looking to add a new furry, feathered or hooved member to your family, why not consider giving an animal a second chance of a loving forever home? This is what Preloved member Babs did, and it was love at first sight!
Babs and Tully Boy
Tully is a kind, cheeky and playful fell pony who continuingly wants to please. He follows me around like a dog and is opening up more and more every day, showing me how sweet he is! One of my favourite things about him is how I can trust him both in the stable, and out in his paddock.
I knew as soon as I saw him that he was the pony for me, but he did try it on for the first day or so. Coming in the yard from the paddock, he would walk up the lane but suddenly plant his feet before walking up the drive to the yard as he wanted to stay out – he didn’t like his stable. However he is good now, despite having a mind of his own!
Before I gave Tully a home, I saw him and his previous family who loved him very much. It was easy to love him too as he enjoys being fussed – it is rewarding knowing I have given him a forever home where he feels just as loved.
Do I have any advice for anyone looking to give a horse or pony a home? Keep looking on the Preloved site. Your new special friend will be waiting for you, but be sure it’s the one for you. If you are not sure a horse or pony is for you then keep searching, as I did! Before you take on an animal, be sure you can give it a good home for life and that you have the proper accomodation for to care for it.
