CABIN CRUISER
CRUISER - FISHING BOAT/HOUSEBOAT ?
The Boat is an ex Ships lifeboat converted into a Cabin Cruiser. Don't ask me what Boat it came off as I don't know. It is about 27foot long by about 8 foot at its widest. There is standing room of six foot in the Cabin area which stops you becoming a hunchback. It has a six foot double bed which combines as a table and there are two single bed spaces fore, which one is about five foot and the other could be seven feet, so for that tall person........
I can send additional photos on request. The photo shows the boat about six years ago when it had the hull sand blasted and primed. The Boat is in need of tidying as it has been neglected.
Since the hull was checked and primed the boat was moored in Water for a six month stint and has been up on blocks at the Boatyard. This is a PROJECT Boat but the important factor is that you are not dealing with wood and possible rot and annual scraping and painting, or Glassfibre and possible Osmosis problems needing a Survey. This is a sound Aluminium hull and with a Glassfibre topdeck over ships ply and mahogany.
The Boat has a 30HP Mercedes/Volvo Penta Diesel in board Engine, and I have the Manual for it. I bought the boat without ever seeing it working but have turned the engine over on a Battery and spent £450 on a Stainless Steel Exhaust/Heat Exchanger which needs to be fitted to the Engine before it can be started. A Mechanic I approached had look at it thought there would be little problem in getting it working. There is a set of new glow plugs and I did change the oil in the Engine. Like most things, during a busy life I had spates of interest and then the oncome of winter and nothing got done. The Boat does need painting on the upper area and the wood could do with being varnished.
The Foredeck was stripped of the Glassfibre owing to a leak and the plan was to put Ships ply over the Mahogany tongue and grooved surface but I have just not got around to it. It has been been covered since the boat was laid up but this is a job to be done, possibly with new Glassfibre laid on to it or you could even tar the joints like they did on Barges. The Boatyard can supply all that is needed or even do the job for you if you wish, at a price.
The Boat has a private Toilet and wash basin area and the Galley has two cupboards and three drawers.
Anyone who has the time could make this into a nice boat.
The Boatyard laying up fees for the Boat is £8.50 per week and I last paid the six month bill of £221.00 + £36.68 VAT to the 11th December 2007. I will pay the Weekly fees to the date of purchase and then its up to you to make arrangement with the Boatyard.
This is a sturdy solid boat with a weight of ballast and so its not something you can tow behind a car. It could be moved on a Low Loader of course. Please bear this in mind.
I have reduced the price from 1200 which is cheap having paid 2000 for it years ago. The Ali is worth as much as I'm asking and you would not get a 30HP Inboard engine for this price. Viewing I will need your full name and address details and landline phone number.
