Eriba Puck, 1986, good condition with full awning.
This Eriba Puck is in good condition for its year and comes complete with a Soplair awning to more than double your living space on site. The awning has removeable side and front panels to give you the choice of enclosed or alfresco dining. We have just returned from a holiday in Normandy with it and it towed like a dream. My BX didn't know it was there! My fuel consumption figure was hardly affected, there were no extra fees to pay on the Autoroutes and when it came home it went straight in my garage thanks to the low profile. On site, you release three clips, pop up the top and you have full standing height at the kitchen end. The canvas is in good order, ventilation flap zips are in good condition and a mosquito net is provided in the roof.
Inside the caravan are two longitudinal sofas which serve as a dining room / lounge during the day and convert to either two single or one double bed at night. Making the beds up is simplicity itself, just slide the seats together and drop the back rests down to make the width. An extension piece folds out on the offside to support the feet of the taller camper. That will be me, then.
The cook (That's me as well) is well catered for and has a three-way (240v mains, 12v battery and gas) fridge, sink with cold water pumped from a container (not supplied, bring your own!) under the work top and a double burner with trivet. The fridge has been tested working on 240v and gas - I can't abide warm white wine with my fish course - but the 12v has not been tested long term as it is fed from the car battery and we didn't need it on our trip. The gas bottle and regulator sit in a locker on the tow bar.
Other interior features are ample high-level cupboards with positive locks and a wardrobe with shelves and a hanging rail for your dinner suit. No need to slum it just because you're camping, is there? Storage for the bedding is under the sofas with a crossways locker under the rear window. The dining table can be used outside and clips to a dedicated rail just above the offside wheel arch. Please note that the lady in the photos is not part of the deal. We've been together for 27 years and she says she can't be bothered to train another one! There are two lighting units which combine 240v and 12v bulbs plus a Continental plug fitting which accepts the usual traveller's adaptor to give UK three-pin functionality. This caravan has only been used on 240v lighting - the wiring for the 12v lights is in place but will have to be conected, a simple DIY job. The rear and nearside windows open to 90 degrees, allowing good ventilation.
Underneath, the chassis is sound, the tyres, brakes and wheel bearings are fine and a spare wheel is supplied.
Don't miss this chance to own a quality-built compact caravan at a bargain price. Eriba are part of the Hymer group, a by-word for excellence in caravan and motorhome construction. The light weight and superior towing characteristics of the Puck mean that it can be towed by smaller cars and are popular with the classic fraternity. I've seen them towed by VW Beetles and even a Smart car. As a rough guide, the weight of the caravan should be no more than 85% of that of the tow car. The Puck weighs in at 500kg.
The caravan is available for viewing in Dover, Kent - CT17 0AA for you sat-nav buffs. Just contact me through the Preloved link to arrange a guided tour of this lovely caravan. Cash on collection is preferred.
