Complete set including set of Mah Jongg wooden racks and instruction booklet. Original cost was around £35.
"As a game it contains a little of "rummy", "poker" and "dominoes" but has facets of its own which make it unique. The beautifully engraved tiles are used to form a three sided "wall" representing a Chinese city wall from which players draw tiles in turn. Players start with thirteen tiles and by drawing and discarding attempt to strengthen their hands by acquiring combinations of "common numbers" or "sequences" in the same suits, with the intricately engraved flowers and seasons tiles forming the basis for an advanced game."
