hello there
i am currently considering long term loaning out my rather lovely 12 year old 15'3 thoroughbred gelding. He is well bred by the well knwn venting stallion Astral master out of the racing mare Impy girl. i Have had him for nearly a year now and in that time i have done alot with him. I originally bought him from his breeder out of a field where he lived with his mother at age 11. He had been broken and backed at 7 years old before experiencing a car crash with his rider owner who then became very nervous and never rode him again.
Considering this Stanley has done extrodinary things. Since i bought him and began riding him he has won numerous dressage comps, jumped clear over 3ft x country, been placed over a 2ft9 show jumping course and has sensibly hunted. He is exceptionally willing to learn and will always do his best for his rider. He is generally very well mannered and will shoe, box, catch ect. easily, he also regularly has my 5 year brother, puppies, ducklings and pigs running around hius legs and is never phased.
Stan is generally a fabulous horse to own with his only vices being that he can be spooky in traffic along narrow lanes when alone or in front as a result of his accident however as a confident rider i generally find this easy to deal with by growling at him, keeping him straight and kicking on.
I am only considering putting him on loan as i am going into my A levels years and am not going to have the time to put the work into him needed to improve his jumping. As i am a showjumper i need a horse that is capable of winning at BSJA competitions, although Stan does well unnaffiliated he just hasn't got the jumping flare and would better suit a Pony club/ODE/unnaffiliated jumping home or would even go on to do Affiliated dressage as he has fantastic paces!
I am looking for an extremly competant rider to take on my lovely little horse to further his education but most importantly give him a good home and have fun with him and to love him. i would like someone in the south west region, ideally Dorset area, so that i can visit him, prefferably to keep him on a smaller yard, or on a home yard. I would look to put him out on loan for possibly two years to start with then offer the option to buy him, if he seems happy, or continue the loan as i go off to university.
