Description

Stunning 1971 low light/small tail light bay window Westfalia Camper. The van was purchased from Randy Carlson of Old Bug fame in March 2008 and arrived in the UK in April 2008. It was taken directly to New Dubs in North Wales where it was MOT prepped, wax oiled and lowered. Both the guys at New Dubs and the MOT station said it was one of the cleanest straightest buses they had ever seen.

Prior to the van coming to the UK it went through a full mechanical overhaul having the 1600 engine fully rebuilt with all new parts, the engine has now covered circa 4k miles with a full oil and filter change 800 miles ago. The bus is 100% rot free and was wax oiled by New Dubs as soon as it arrived in the UK. With it being an early 1971 bus it is extremely rare as it benefits from front disc brakes but also keeps the small rear lights as used in split screens.

The interior of the van is pristine, totally original and uncut. It is by far the best Westfalia layout produced with a rock roll bed, single seat, flip up dining table, cool box (fridge style), sink (with new water tank and piping), wardrobe, rear cupboard and full height pop top with original hammock. The bus also benefits from the original child?s hammock for the front so is there for a 4 berth.
