Description
WORLDbytes is the online alternative news channel created by volunteers at WORLDwrite. It aims to get behind the headlines and promote a people-first perspective on a wide-range of issues; so dont shout at the telly, change the message on it! The next two WORLDbytes Train & Shoot opportunities for 16-25s runs over two intensive weekends, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September or Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October 2009 in London. This "on the job" training enables volunteers to shoot footage for our news channel WORLDbytes. These two weekends are specifically designed for volunteers able and willing to work as the TV crew at the prestigious Battle of Ideas festival taking place in London on Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November. The training involves long days learning camera, lighting, sound, production and hands on shooting. This is an expensive project for the charity as we pay for volunteer's tickets for the Battle of Ideas, for professional tutors and for all food and refreshments. You should ONLY apply for this opportunity if you can definitely attend the Battle of Ideas on both days to help film over 80 major debates. You do not need any existing skills but you do need to want to create programmes which challenge ideas. Places are limited so book now to avoid disappointment by applying online.
