Zlataritsa is a small town located in the central northern part of Bulgaria (Balkan/Stara Planina Mountain range), located in the area of Veliko Tarnovo and close to the popular tourist towns of Elena, Rodina, and Strazhitsa. In the town there is the Historical Museum of Zlataritsa. The local Church of St. Nicholas has been declared one of the Bulgarian Monuments of Culture; there are three ancient settlements nearby as well eight tombs from the 6th-7th millennium BC that have been discovered in the vicinity, and fortress remains have been found in the Gradishte area. There are many ancient ruins and tombs in the area; nearby Veliko Tarnovo (also referred to as Veliko Turnovo) was the capital of Bulgaria during the Second Bulgarian Empire in the 12th to 14th century and has a history of 5000 years.

The local council is also in the process of establishing an eco-trail following the town's river (River Burzitsa) through a trail of beautifully unspoilt natural sights.

The beautiful town of Elena is only a short drive away and is very popular with tourists. Property there has risen in price very rapidly as it is very desirable place to live with clean mountain air and famous local cuisine. There is lots to see in and around the town, such as historical buildings, natural geographical formations, museums and a waterfall. There is a railway line to Gorna Oryahovitsa.

The town of Gorna Oryahovitsa is approximately 20/25km away; there have been rumours of opening the airport here to commercial flights for some time now, which would serve the tourism trade to popular Veliko Tarnovo & Elena well. Currently airports available are Sofia and Varna, and there are some flights to Bourgas and Plovdiv. Alternatively, WizzAir fly cheap flights to Bucharest in Romania and you can cross the south border and into Bulgaria via the historical town of Rousse.

This wonderful oak forest is located on the hill overlooking the Municipal Hall/Town Hall in the town centre, and although this is currently unregulated land, there is potential for future development and it is not far from the road.

Please note that all fees would be payable in Bulgaria, and you will need to set up a Bulgarian company in order to purchase as per the normal foreign purchases in Bulgaria.
