Description
Beautiful part bred arab - origins unconfirmed - sire thought to be Prince Shalmazar whilst her mother I am told, was a french trotter. Holly was sold to us in May for our 13 year old daughter to ride by someone who clearly had no morals - she is not a suitable horse for a young teenager and hence we are reluctantly selling her - I will not be dishonest in my description of Holly as I would like her to go to a home where she can be settled. The bad bits; Holly is petrified of cows and has bolted with my daughter to get away from them on one occasion (I do think she will overcome this as she has with sheep). My daughter is not strong enough/experienced enough to deal with this. Holly is far from a novice's horse and is extremely green - she can be tense out on rides and needs time with a confidence giving partner horse (I dont ride so cant do this). Ideally she would benefit greatly from daily lead reigning with another horse The good bits; Holly loves contact and grooming and is quite happy for chickens to run around her and for shovels/brushes to clean up under and around her. She is very safe around her back end and has never bitten/kicked out at us. She whinneys for you in the field and she is easy to catch and lives out. Holly is no problem to tack up and she is fairly ok to load. Holly currently lives with a minature and she is great with him most of the time. Holly has done really well with clicker training around spook busting and has no issues walking over tarpaulins and is fine with tractors and double decker buses. Flying Phesants are also no problem. Holly has overcome her fear of sheep and has been sharing her field with them. Holly is barefoot and trimmed regularly (she is a bit pidgeon toed). She is good for the dentist. Holly is a lovely mare who has a lot to give. I have been honest about Holly in the hope that she can go to a home which can offer her the chance to realise her potential. She is a stunning looking mare who is wasted with us.
