Description
I purchased this bike in February 2009 when they 1st came out. I have ridden it to work and on some trails up until July 2009 when I purchased at full suspension bike, which I now ride instead. The bike has been upgraded: - - Wheels are Mavic XM 719 which are very strong rims, better than the original Alex ones. - Stem and bars are Ritchey and give the bike more of a controllable XC feel. Bars are wide. - The saddle is Tioga and more comfortable than the original genesis one. - I changed the whole drive train to SLX in June 2009 because I wanted the original drive train for a bike build. This includes new SLX cranks and chain rings, Sram 9 speed chain, Deore cassette 11 34 tooth. The bike is riding perfectly and well upgraded. Wheels run smooth, true and fast. Drive train runs and changes perfectly. The Genesis Altitude 10 is a great bike and is rate as one of the best AM and XC hardtails that money can buy for a £1000. MBUK magazine rated it 9 out of 10 in the February addition and What Mountain bike also rate it 9 out of 10 SPECFICATIONS: GENESIS ALTITUDE 10 Frame: Reynolds 520 3 main tubes, Butted Cr-Mo rear stays Fork: Rock Shox Recon 335 U-Turn 85-130 mm, Motion Control Front Derailleur: Shimano Deore Rear Derailleur: Shimano SLX Shadow Shifters: Shimano Deore Rapidfire Chainset: Shimano SLX 175mm Chainrings: SLX 44/32/22 tooth chainrings Pedals: Shimano PD-M520 Front Brake: Shimano M575 disc, 180mm rotor Rear Brake: Shimano M575 disc, 160mm rotor Brake Levers: Shimano M575 Handlebars: Ritchey Rizer Alloy 31.8 clamp, low rise Stem: Ritchey 31.8 clamp, 3-D forged Rims: Mavic XM 719 Front Hub: Shimano M495 Centre-Lock Disc Rear Hub: Shimano M495 Centre-Lock Disc Front Tyre: Bontrager Jones XC 2:1 Rear Tyre: Panaracer Fire XC Pro Folding 2:1 Saddle: Tioga Seatpost: Genesis 6061 T6 Aluminium 27.2 mm, 400 mm
