Description
My mum bought this coat for her 21st birthday back in 1962 for £76. from a shop called Cabot, in High Street in Cardiff According to estimationas this would today equate to well in excess of £2000!! she thinks she still may have the receipt, so is looking , nice to see the history.
The coat is nearly straight cut, with a shawl collar which can be stood up for additional cover and warmth. It closes with ties inside and 3 furrier hooks down the front, it is lined in brown satin. It was last worn in 1979, and has been in the wardrobe eversince.
Condition - Excellent, no fur loss , the pelts and still shinny, soft and supple .about 5 stitches needed to repair a tiny detatchment of a pelt from the one above. If you live locally you are more than welcome to come and have a look. If not i can send you as many photos as you want. Size: apparently coats back then were made to fit all, but in modern terms we think it would fit a size 12-14
