project -new forest pony 13'2

HERBIE

He is 8 years old - 13'2 , Has NO health problem, very good at long lining and voice response (maybe good driving pony). He is good at coming up from the field, boxing, brushing, tacking up, shoeing, worming, dentist, and good in traffic. He lives outside all year around. I don?t know what he would be like with clipper? He is good on his own, with electric fencing, and has been hacking out on his own for the last couple of months. Herbie does not get spooked, even with a pheasant jumping out in front of him. When I got Herbie, he did have some serious behaviour problems (nipping and bucking) as he was treated badly by his last owner (he was being ridden with a badly fitted saddle), and he was quite scared of me. I have had his back checked and it was fine, and had his teeth done as he had no movement in his jaw, and he had the wrong size bit. After much time of groundwork and Monty Roberts training, Herbie has turned into a lovely little pony. He is good on hacks with other horses (good as gold!), but on his own he?s not very forward going, and is a little bit of a pig trying to grab a snack on the way. I think as a novice rider I can?t bring him on any more. I think I have been a little bit soft on him, but I think that?s what he needed. Sadly, I cant afford to keep him. I am not asking for crazy money, as to me it is more important that he goes to a good home. He comes with all his tack, including a brand new saddle and Monty Roberts bit with a dually halter, rug and brushes. He must go to some one who is not a novice and is patient, as he needs schooling and bringing on. sorry no loan
