This is for power steering to be fitted to your van, Talbot Express, Fiat Ducato, Peugeot J5, Citroen C25 1982-94. I fit an EPAS system to your vehicle, (electric power assisted steering) this system utilises 95% of your original steering system so it looks original inside your van, with the addition of a silent electric motor, the fitted system can just be seen in the photo. In the event of a motor failure your steering will work as a manual system again. The system offers full assistance just like factory fitted hydraulic steering. If you have one of these vans, then you know how heavy the steering is when it comes to town driving or parking, this will make your parking a one handed job.
The whole system can be fitted in 4 hours. It comes with a 12 month guarantee. I can also fit a new ignition switch with 2 keys at the time of fitting for £30 if you are having problems with yours.
The total price you pay is £600.
LHD van power steering conversion £650.
I also offer a ready to fit assembly for £400 with FREE postage, (the parts shown in picture 2 are required on an exchange basis, I need your bits before I send out the kit due to high demand)
for the moderately competent home mechanic amongst you.
The first picture shows a fitted system,
works on van based and coach built motorhomes just the same, the second picture shows the parts I require on an exchange basis if you want to fit the system yourself
Unlike other companies this is a fully fitted price, mine is not only bolted with the original bolts but I also add a bracket onto the pedal box to cope with the torque of the electric motor, without this it would be DANGEROUS and likely for the column to break the 6mm bolts holding it. This requires removing and modifying the pedal box which is obviously a lot more work. I have fitted over 100 of these systems to this exact van.
I am based in Stratford-upon-Avon, you are welcome to stay in your van overnight while the work is completed (with electric hook-up), have a look around the historic home of Shakespeare, or I will take you to the local train station which is only 2 minutes away and you can collect later. I have my own van here available for viewing and testing of the steering system.
As mentioned in MMM (November 2012 issue)
I work weekends as well, if that is more convenient for anyone that wants power steering fitted.
