Vintage Persian Rug. Turkmen Hand Woven Prayer Carpetet

This is a most lovely, rich, example in strong colours and powerful design and original body in excellent condition.

I am informed by a London rug dealer that this carpet is probably Persian Turkmen. It is a little worn at one end, but secure. Please study these pictures to be clear about the condition.

I cannot give a guarantee of provenance but I have owned and stored this rug for about 30 years after inheriting from a former pre-war London borough Mayor, who was an avid collector of fine rugs and furniture.

Knotting looks like 16 per inch. Size: approx 74" x 56.25"
