What is Graded?
This means the item has been fully tested but may have some cosmetic damage on the appliance which does not affect the performance of the appliance. There may be a mark or blemish on the machine, or indentation which usually occurs to the back or sides but sometimes can be to the front. Sometimes the machine is in perfect condition because they are part of a cancelled order or has been discontinued. A small percentage may have some signs of use but the majority are new however we are always more than happy to give a full description over the phone so please do not hesitate to call us

Items will not be dispatched until we have received full payment unless cash on collection or delivery has been agreed beforehand either by telling us by message or phoning.
Please remember that we sell graded appliances so if you would like a description of the marks then please telephone before purchasing. We will try to explain all marks the best we can over the phone but sometimes it is difficult to explain certain marks and some marks you can only see in certain light, so if you do not telephone before purchase and/or you are not happy with the marks that are on your appliance then we can refund you the cost of the appliance and cancel the transaction but the delivery charge will still have to be paid.
A manual doesn't always come with the appliance so in these cases you will have to look on the internet to download the manual.
On rare occasions there may certain items that will not come with the appliance for example fixing kits etc. from appliances but in these cases it is up to you as the customer to buy the missing parts from elsewhere.
After purchase please make sure your delivery address is correct, inform us if you live in a flat and a contact number supplied to avoid any delays in delivery.
When delivering your appliance we will try to bring the appliance into the room of your choice. This is subject to the size of the product (getting past obstructions / through doorways) and also in weight. If the team cannot safely move the appliance to the desired room then they will deliver it to the nearest point. They are also not allowed to move any windows, doors etc.
The delivery drivers will make every effort to protect your appliance or home from any damage but it is your responsibility for example to move any ornaments or putting a protective layer on the floor to protect it. In the unfortunate event of something getting damaged then Birkby Bargains won't be liable for any repair costs.
Unwanted products must be returned back to our shop within 7 days of purchase at the buyers own costs and returned in the same condition you received it in. A refund will be given minus any delivery costs.

Please be aware that we also sell our appliances in our shop so in the unfortunate event that we have sold the appliance you have ordered in our shop and there is no alternative appliance we reserve the right to cancel the transaction.

What is Graded Stock?
Graded items, sometimes called "seconds" or B grade stock, are brand new items that have been returned to the original manufacturer.
Graded items are not factory seconds or inferior goods in anyway. They are simply items which have been returned either unopened or under retail outlets 28 days no quibble returns policy.
The items may be returned for one of the following reasons:
Customer simply did not like/want item and returned after a few days.
Item may have had packaging damage
Item may have had slight cosmetic marks
Item may be from a failed delivery/cancelled order (once handled by a courier they are no longer classed as brand new and so are graded)
Retail outlet may have over stocked/under sold and return to manufacturer for credit
These are the most common reasons for the items being returned. Once an item has been sold, whether it reaches the end user or not it cannot be resold as brand new - it has to be sold as graded. This means some of the items will be brand new and never been out of the box.
What is an Ex Display Product?
An ex-display product has been on display either at our showrooms or at leading High Street retailer showrooms and is a great way of bagging a bargain! Great care is taken to ensure we report accurately any marks or blemishes.

All items bought from the showroom are sold as seen. As graded items some may have accessories missing which in no way will affect the functioning of the item. Manuals do not always come with appliances but are easily downloaded on the internet. For items bought online we will describe honestly any blemishes to the item and will send pictures if requested.
Items are non-refundable. Under the 6 months warranty given with each appliance we will provide an engineer or swap for another of the same appliance if the item breaks down. If you picked up the item from us then you are responsible for bringing it back in the event of an exchange-if it was delivered by us then we are responsible for picking the item up for exchange. General wear and tear is not covered under the warranty. We do not cover loss of food and will not accept any claims for loss-we advise that the contents are insured and regularly checked.
Local deliveries-(deliveries done by ourselves)
Please inform us beforehand of any access issues there might be, we will do our best to bring the item in to your home and room of choice but if the access is not suitable we will only be responsible for bringing to the nearest entry point. We are not liable for any damages caused to your property (eg. Lino, ornaments) while we are bringing the item in to your home, though all care will be taken to ensure this doesn?t happen. We do not fit the appliances, you will need a gas safe engineer for gas appliances, an electrician for electric appliances and a plumber for washers/dishwashers etc.
Nationwide delivery-(deliveries done by a 3rd party company)
We use a third party pallet track company to bring the item to you. The item will be securely wrapped and strapped to a pallet. The delivery company is not responsible for bringing the item in to your home-it will be brought on the pallet to the nearest entry point of your home. It is your responsibility to unpack the item and bring it in to your home. If you wish to report any damage upon receipt of the item please take pictures before signing for the item and send to us straight away- preferably while the delivery driver is still at the scene, we can only compensate for transit damage if this procedure is followed.
