Rising 6 year old cob for sale. well what can I say about Ernie. He was great to ride really looks after his rider not phased by anything, been hacked out over a busy motorway bridge, has come across busses cyclist ect n isn't bothered at all, he would curve round grates but we was working on this, although he has been introduced to a lot of traffic and probably would be a totally bombproof horse (with the right rider) I haven't done a massive amount with him mainly due to him only being young and taking things very slowly with him (hence the low price). Ernie after being kicked had 3 or 4 lots of intermittent lameness over the space of a year only lasting an hour or so when walked which lead us to believe it could be locking stifle so off to the vets he went long story short it was due to an old penetration wound on his left hind hoof which he had to have surgery on, this has now healed and the vets gave the go ahead to start riding again. I will explain everything in detail if you want to know more. we are currently riding for 25mins with 1min trot building up 5mins every week until we reach 45mins then it's back to usual routine. we have mainly been in the areana whilst slowly building up but will be starting to hack out from next week, he was recently walked out with another horse accompanying us, he was slightly spooky to begin with (he hasn't been off the yard for 5months) but soon calmed down and relaxed so I'm sure he will go back to being the fairly confident pony he was. He wasnt keen on going last but didn't mind leading. I'm trying to be as honest as possible and more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Ernie has lovely stable manners doesn't barge out the stable but does pull faces over the door although once in he's good to muck out around ect. Ernie can be an absolute arse to catch in the field but with an combination of calmness and joinup he will be caught (he is also fairly easily bribed with food lol). Ernie didn't have a great start to life I was his 3rd or 4th owner by the time he was 14 (ish)months old and has some trust issues, with this he is definitely a 1 to 1 pony as he needs to build a trust with you, he is however the sweetest thing once he knows you. He doesn't kick or bite but will pull faces at the stable door as I've already said he also does it be being fed. He has just had a trim does not need shoes as he has great hooves, he is up to date with dentist next app in 12month time. He will however need his jabs restarting if planning on showing. If you would like to know anymore info please don't hesitate to ask. He will come with his rugs and all his grooming stuff sprays ect as I'm giving up horses for a while, tack can be negotiated as I'm currently riding with a total contact saddle. Last pic was taken 2-3years ago just to show him with his full mane & feather, the ridden pics are from 2weeks ago. Worming- we are on a worming programme on our yard he was tested 7.4.18 and no wormer was required this time.
