Polly is a proper tradition heavy cob mare, she has the most amazing attitude you could ask for from a pony. Great with kids (stands all day for them to brush/bath etc) she is ride and drive and she’s the type the smallest of kids could drive her in the heaviest of traffic and she wouldn’t bat and eyelid! She stands to you put cart etc on and as soon as u stop she won’t move again till u tell her too!
She has been ridden also, we have been using her to teach little girls how to ride on. She isn’t sharp or spooky. Just a proper little plod that you have to kick to keep her going. Although she doesn’t canter under saddle (we think it’s due to be mainly used for driving) you can leave her months without being ridden and then pop a tiny kid on and know they would be safe!
The only bad point I can think of is she previously suffered from laminitis (we’ve had her a year and never had any bother tho) aslong as you control turnout and keep her stabled at night it doesn’t give her any bother!
She would be perfect for someone learning how to drive/ridingschool/rda etc
