The performance of Sparticus was notable for the Roman military costumes and banners, with excellent lighting in many colours, and included the now famous Khachaturian theme used in the Onedin Line on TV, ending with a dramatic speared death for Sparticus in the finale.
The performance of Swan Lake had fabulous costumes, especially in the Palace scenes, and the ending in this production has Siegfried separated from Odette by the Wizard Von Rothbart.
The performance of Don Quixote again had fabulous costumes, and cubist Ballets Russes style scenery in the town scene.
The orchestral playing by the Bolshoi Theatre was excellent, conducted by Pavel Klinichev and Pavel Sorokin on various dates, along with the dancing.
