Antique/Vintage Dring & Fage Hydrometer

I believe this is an Antique/Vintage Dring & Fage Hydrometer. I suspect for alcohol, beer or spirits.

Dring & Fage were manufacturers of gauging equipment, rules etc. A large proportion of their range was produced for the Customs & Excise.

It is stamped;
"Dring & Fage" "C&E" "1055/1070" "No 388" There is also a scale stamped up each side. I suspect the C&E may stand for Customs & Excise.

The instrument measures approx 9' long & comes in its original protective box.

It might be guilt or gold plated. I'm not actually sure what the base metal is made from but it is quite light in order that it may float.

I'm selling it in used Condition but I don't believe it has ever been used.
