Hatching eggs - £2.50 each

These exotic looking birds are very rare in the UK with their ‘Dalmatian like’ colourings. Originating from Switzerland, they are extremely hardy and excellent layers of pretty white eggs. Perfect for our changeable British weather!
They will lay well on little food. The Appenzellers are really quite bright and will happily look after themselves when insects are plentiful. They like having freedom to roam as well as having things to climb as they are always on the go.
With this specific breed of cockerel, they are very gentle! Never had one with any signs of aggression. They will play fight with each other but love nothing more than a cuddle and being hand fed some pieces of fruit.
They will take care of your hens from predators and they are also wonderful fathers!! Yep you heard it right! I have 1 cockerel who is the father of my last batch and every night he sits next to the chicks with the mamma hen checking they are okay!
