Leyland Daf FA 45.130 7.49 tonne wagon, Spares/repair Project . Bought to convert into a camping pod. No MOT Test.
June 1993, on SORN, have V5, recorded as Box Van, HGV taxation class. Ideal for conversation to a camping Pod or toilet block, stable yard/field shelter, storage unit etc, or for spares or restored for use again.
23 by 7 feet 6 inches wide, with 3 stalls. The floor & walls are rubber lined. There has been a bit of a leak in the roof, which has resulted in a flaking ceiling.
There is a ' day room area approx 8 feet long. The previous owners had disconnected some of the wiring, due to what they told us was a alternator problem. This means that none of the dashboard lights, head lights, indicators etc work, but as there had been a fuel cut off solenoid switch and push starter button fitted inside the cab, it didn't matter to us for the job we had in mind for her
She starts immediately on the push button, the air brake system makes and holds air.
It's been a few years since she was last Tested for road use, and the cab is a bit tatty. The previous owners had used her for a stable yard/field shelter come mobile storage unit, plus using the living area as a brew and sleeping room. It was classed as "mobile" and could be moved around the yard or field to avoid planning issues.
She has a six cylinder diesel engine with 117607 km on the clock and five speed gear box, both in good working order. The engine starts and runs sweetly. There is a bit of light coloured smoke when starting her up, but this is due to standing and not being driven on the road for a good while. The air brakes work perfectly, and the tyres are all good. Both batteries are good and hold charge. A Lucas Tachograph is fitted.
We had her brought back to us in a low loader, with having no Test or lights etc, so something similar would be required for collection.
Inspection is welcome, as she is offered on a 'sold as seen' basis .
