Antique print Antoine de Pluvinel (1552-1620) Antoine de Pluvinel (1552, crest, Dauphine-24th August 1620) was the first of the French riding masters and had great influence on modern dressage. He wrote L'Iinstruction du Roy en l'exercice de monter à cheval ("the king's instruction in the art of the horse"), he was tutor of King Louis XIII and is credited with the invention of using two pillars, as well using shoulder-in to increase softness. Figure 41 of the first part, published after his death in 1625, and still in use in the school of Vienna. 22815007
