Dimensions: 140 x 90 cm Very fine rug, according to the Hereke tradition, with thickness of 1 mm (see photos for details). Approx. 700,000 knots per square meter (see photos for details). The rug has been professionally cleaned and then kept in a home away from high traffic areas, therefore, it has rarely been trodden on and used as an interior's accessory. Very good condition, practically like new, despite its age. The fringe is also in perfect condition and completely undamaged. The photos are an integral part of the description and show the rug front and back, along with all of the details and meticulous decorations. The rug was purchased in Italy during the 1980s and comes from a private collection. Made in Hereke, Turkey. The rugs that come from this area are known worldwide as incomparable for their quality and feature traditional Ottoman patterns and motifs. Finely hand-knotted by master Ottoman craftsmen and painstakingly detailed. These rugs take many hours to make, created from extra fine, highest quality silk, with natural colours that appear to change tone depending on where they are viewed from, which is typical of silk (this can be seen in the photos). Carefully packaged and shipped via tracked courier. 22969025
