Scarce book, a history of Alley & MacLellan, the famous manufacturer of steam & diesel lorries, buses, railcars, locomotives, steam and diesel engines. This volume tells the story of the business from its earliest days until 1930, with its products, prices and personalities. Black cloth hard covers with silver titles on the spine. Tight binding, no inscriptions but there is a small sticker attached to the first free endpaper from The Foden Historic Commercial Vehicle Run, London to Brighton May 7th 1978. Unclipped dust jacket has a sunned spine and very light edge wear. Very good condition. Illustrated throughout with photographs, drawings and diagrams.
