For sale is my wife's Ford Mondeo hatchback. We have had it over 3 years and bought it as a one owner car which had been serviced throughout by the main dealer. A privately owned car used for works business so well looked after. She has loved it and still does but it has had to be replaced by a smaller low insurance group 1 car to teach my children to drive in, as I could not get reasonable insurance for them on a 1.8 petrol car. It has done 153k miles but drives as if it had done a more modest mileage. We have always serviced it within the recommended times and mileages and have loads of history from new. It is reasonably economical, generally about 40mpg average for us with a mixture of town and motorway driving, I get more, my beloved less. It is best at moderate speeds as it is low geared and fast motorway driving not as good as around town.
The only let down of any sort we have ever had was the clutch which gave out a few months ago so had done well from new at almost 150k miles. For most of it's life it has had only the driver being carried, no tow bar or roof rack so has had an easy life given the regularity of servicing.
Body work is very good with no signs of corrosion, but a few minor blemishes associated with car parking etc. No accidents from new, burns no oil or shows any signs of wear so would appear to be good for a lot more miles yet. We sold her last car with over 220000 miles on it and see it driving around most weeks after another just over 3 years.
Good value motor with a very good history which I am sure you will not be disappointed in. MOT due end of next July, passed the last one with ease. Must go or she will want me to keep it as well as the new one and that makes no sense at all.
