Farrington Bear is one of a limited edition of 5,000 produced in 2001 by USA based Russ Berrie. Each one has an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Because of the limited numbers made, Russ Berrie Bears are rarer than the better known Stieff bears. As such they are a very good investment and prices will rise rapidly as and when their rarity is recognised. A Russ Berrie bear was recently available in Australia for 1,500 Australian Dollars (approx £930). Some earlier Limited Edition bears are being offered at 3,000 dollars! Look on the teddybearsdirect website for more information.
Farrington is a brand new, fully jointed, almond coloured teddy with sueded paw pads. He is from the Russ Berrie Signature Collection with the model number LE006. He is 58/59 cm (approx. 27") tall and is complete with attached ear tag, box and Certificate of Authenticity numbered 2567. Anyone considering adopting a Russ Berrie Limited Edition Signature Bear should ensure that it comes complete with the ear tag, certificate and box all in unmarked and uncreased condition. This one does!
I adopted six of these bears in 2001 and gave four away to young relatives as an investment/present and kept two for myself. I have now come to the conclusion that it is selfish of me to deprive someone else of the privilege of the friendship of their own Farrington so have decided to offer one of mine to a deserving home.
