A revived vintage solid wood Queen Anne style cabinet raised on pad footed cabriole legs with a lovely leaf design which extends across the base of the unit.
The cabinet comprises a pair of lockable doors above a single dove-tail jointed drawer. This vintage piece is solidly built in an early to mid century style with mirrored glass inside to the back and base cupboard surfaces. It has been renovated with an original design that makes it a unique piece of furniture to bring a distinctive flair to your home decor.
The piece has been beautifully updated with an antique look map design, and hand painted using Annie Sloan chalk paint in “Graphite”. The use of a clear wax has endowed it with a rich dark grey patina, bringing out the hand painted finish, and making it stand out from the crowd. Original hardware has been retained where possible and includes a slide bolt for the left hand door, and a lock with key on the right hand door.
The piece has been distressed at the edges and on the raised mouldings allowing the wood to show through the paint finish, giving it an effortlessly aged look. The antique look map design has been used on the door and drawer panels, additionally as a drawer lining which has been sealed to ensure that inside the drawer is wipe clean. The paint and wax finish has been continued underneath and at the back to ensure a thorough enhancement.
Originally, this was probably a drinks cabinet and could still be used as such. Alternatively, it would work well as discrete storage in a hallway, a bedroom or living area.
