Leafy is a handsome and healthy 14 year old Welsh Sec B, 12h something Gelding,
Absolutely fine living outside with another Gelding. We rug him if it's near or below zero. Good doer - no extra feed needed so far.
We bought Leafy from a local riding school to be a first pony but he is more a second pony.
When we first got him he was a bit head shy, but he seems to have improved the more he has got to know us and now enjoys his cuddles and is easy to catch. He is easy to bridle, and he always comes to greet you at the fence and likes his ears scratched.
Leafy can be a bit unpredictable around food, so you have to be aware of this if giving treats or hay. Sometimes he chases other ponies away to get the cuddles too. Typical cheeky pony. He is not 100% for our daughter to handle which forces sale. But someone older than 5 years old and with more confidence would be absolutely fine!
3 lovely paces. Been ridden once a week. We have been told by previous owner that Leafy occasionally bucks. He has only done it once with us and it wasn't a full on buck, more like a bunny hop. Never rears or bolts and stands still when mounting. Otherwise well behaved under saddle.
He picks up his feet and grooms no problem.
He is a very sweet boy who follows you around.
Comes with saddle and bridle and a lightweight turnout rug.
If you think you can offer Leafy a loving home then he can be seen any weekday or at the weekend.
Happy to answer any questions.
