‘The Ardeton’ is a full-size violin of English origin, c1930.
The model is Stradivari and the Style Cremonese.

The violin itself is made of spruce and maple and reflects the high class workmanship achieved by several craftsmen working under the supervision of Mr Bird who worked for Rushworth & Dreaper for well over 28 years from the year 1914.
The insurance certificate notes ‘in particular the exactitude of the purfling inlay flow into the corners (bee-sting), the evenness of the overhang, the accuracy and crispness of the sound-holes and the elegant and wholesome volutes on the scroll. We also must remark on the outstanding choice of material used to build this material.’
The violin is in good playing order. Minor wear and tear is minimal. Minor damage to the back button.
