"With The Beatles" Parlophone PMC 1206
Issued November 22, 1963
Vintage, Rare Original 1963 1st UK Pressing with the You Really Gotta Hold On Me Error and the Jobete Publishing Error for the song Money
Here is another much sought after first UK Parlophone pressing - "With The Beatles" their second Lp with the spelling mistake for the song "You Really Gotta Hold On Me" and the JOBETE Publishing error for the song Money. Bothe mistakes were corrected on later reissues. Getting tough to find and this one is a gem PLUS it comes with the original Parlophone Records flyer that lists the Beatles first and second Lp's!!!
This Lp has a stunning cover in VG++ (or better) condition with only very minor wear from handling. The seams are solid the corners are nice and better still the front laminate is in excellent condition. The cover is a 1st press Garrod & Lofthouse cover with the classic Freeman front cover photograph.
The record is a very early pressing with Side 1 Matrix numbers "XEX 447-1N" and the Mother/Stamper numbers are "3 AH", Side 2 Matrix numbers are "XEX 448-1N" with the Mother/Stamper numbers being "2 and P". The Side 2 label has the embossed letters M K T tax stamp. The labels are in very nice condition with all the print sharp and crisp and very minor spindle marks.
The Parlophone Record Co. rim print is in all Upper case and the "Made In GT. Britain" is printed at the bottom of the label. The "Recording First Published" statement is on the left hand side of the label. The printing of the label name Parlophone is in YELLOW INK and in excellent condition. Some wear at the spindle hole but nothing too distracting. The record will also come with the correct EMITEX lined inner sleeve in excellent condition (slight tear on one side - repairable).
The vinyl is in excellent condition with only light surface marks. No loud pops or skips some very light surface noise between some of the tracks. The vinyl really does look amazing and plays very well. The edges of the record are still nice and sharp!
This first pressing also has the song "You Really Gotta Hold On Me" mispelled on the Record Jacket and on the Label - Gotta was changed to Got To on later pressings. The publishing credits for the song Money are attributed to Jobete Mus. NCB and later corrected to Dominion, Belinda (Ldn) Ltd.on later pressings.
Also coming with this record is the original Parlophone flyer advertising "Outstanding Records for your Collection" This double sided flyer lists the top Lp's of the day including the Beatles first two Lp's. Some minor creases and crinkles but in excellent condition. This is the original from 1963 and not a copy!!! Great item to have with this 1st issue lp.
