Our holiday lodge called "Brambles 52" had a complete refurbishment for the 2017 season which went well. It is located on the 5 Star Devon Hills Holiday Park owned by Haulfryn's and is just outside Paignton in Torbay, South Devon less than two miles from Paignton sea front and close to many of the areas holiday amenities as well as supermarkets and Paignton Zoo.
It is centrally located in Devon Hills next to a tranquil park, used by some for dog walking, and across the road from the children's play park and the leisure centre that has a swimming pool, gym, weights room and sauna among other amenities. It is also just a short walking distance to the sites own 15th Century pub and restaurant, The Blagdon Inn, as well as the on site archery centre and fishing ponds next door to Devon Hills.
The lodge is well maintained, timber clad, 38' x 12' and comes with its own parking space, ample decking overlook the park and country side beyond, is full furnished, double glazed, and had new floor coverings throughout as part of the 2017 refurbishment. It is centrally heated and fully equipped for holidays and is ready for use. The modern open plan design offers a lounge, dining room and kitchen area.
The photographs provide an insight into the result of our refurbishment for the 2017 letting season which included two new two seater settees new curtains, window blinds and scatter rug in front of the fireplace that has a remote control electric fire and a wall mounted Sony TV. The dining area has a glass top chrome legged table with four leather seats. The kitchen has a gas hob, electric oven with stainless steel hood and fan, dish washer, fridge, freezer and microwave oven as well as a toaster and kettle. On December 14th 2017 a brand new Worcester Bosch boiler with 7 years warranty was fitted and is house in a cupboard in the corner of the kitchen. More cupboards provide ample storage space for normal kitchen equipment all of which is included in the sale.
A doorway leads to two bedrooms and the shower room which are off the corridor. The shower room also had new floor covering during the refurbishment and the shower cubical has recently serviced Mira Shower fed by the boiler. The WHB has a vanity unit with mirror fronted cabinet over it that has lighting and a razor point, the room also has a WC.
The master bedroom has new carpeting, a double bed and cabinets each side with new bedside lamps. There are storage cupboards above the bed and large built in wardrobe as well as an ensuite WC with new floor covering. The second bedroom is smaller with new carpeting, two single beds, a bedside cabinet with beside lamp, chest of draws and wardrobe with hanging space.
As an owner on the site you gain several things not offered on other holiday sites. The park and it's facilities are open all year round but is not residential. Ownership includes free WiFi with the lodge, membership to the leisure centre and the latest offering is a "Reward Card" giving 10% discount on drinks and food at the Blagdon Inn. Haulfryn's hold owners nights throughout the year with food and entertainment at a very small price.
Ownership also offers several alternatives as a holiday lodge. You may reside there as often as you want taking advantage of the facilities but it cannot be your main residence. You must have a postal address away from the park as no post or parcels can be received at your holiday home or reception. You can also have family and friends use it, or in order to make a good income to offset the site fees, as we have done, you can let it either yourself or through the Haulfryn's 5 Star Letting Scheme.

As additional information apart from the three towns of Torbay which are all a short distance away Dartmoor National Park can be reached within half an hour and the cities of Plymouth and Exeter are easily reached within an hour thanks to the new ring road and the Devon Express Way. Drive over the bridge at Plymouth and Cornwall opens up to you.
