The Yeoman chart plotter enables electronic navigation to be done using paper charts. It has been arranged to be self contained as it is interconnected with a Garmin GPS (that is included) and a 12V cigar lighter connector. The puck is moved across the chart to find the present position, or to enter way points etc.These are displayed on the GPS screen and can be used to steer using the GPS 'go to' screen. The users manual is included.The chart store in the Yeoman has been loaded with a number of Admiralty Leisure Folio charts for the south coast of England. These are listed on the paperwork.
The present self contained set up was to enable the plotter to be used in another boat. The photos also show the previous installation in my Westerly Centaur that I sold. In this installation, the plotter was permanently wired to the boats power supply and its GPS, located near the helm. In use the plotter was secured to the cabin table with a couple of spring clamps.
