A Gardentec 37.2cc petrol chainsaw with a 40 cm / 16 inch blade. This is almost identical to the ones sold under B&Q, Einhell, Mountfield and Sovereign branding.
I got this at a car boot but when I had a closer look at it at home, I found the chain had rusted solid. Even after much persuading, the chain would not free up properly, so I got a new one. I also noticed that the original chain had been put on backwards, so no wonder it didn't cut and soon got relegated to the back of someone's shed!
I then set about getting the engine going and tuning it. I found the low speed mixture screw had seized into the carb body and tried to free it but it sheared off so I cleaned it up and left it. The high speed mixture and idling speed screws work fine.
The engine HAS started and run and with the new chain fitted the saw worked well, dealing with some test logs no problem.
BUT, the engine now refuses to start, hence it is for sale to an enthusiast or for spares.
The new chain is an Oregon 91PX 057E. The old chain is included as the cutting edges are perfect but it needs more effort to free every link.
Price is to collect or hand over local to Leeds.
Although postage is not possible (petrol fumes), I will deliver for the fuel cost of the return journey, based on 60 mpg.
Cash, cheque or bank transfer only, thanks.
