This coin was one of two designs released to mark the 150th anniversary of the introduction of the Victoria Cross.
The reverse, design by Clive Duncan, depicts a solder carrying a wounded comrade in his arms from the battlefield. In the background is the outline of the Victoria Cross with a sun burst surrounding it.
The obverse shows the portrait of Her Majesty by Ian Rank-Broadley; which was the fourth portrait used on coins.
This is a “companion” coin to the ‘Victoria Cross’ 50 pence issued in the same year.
It has been in circulation; condition as per the photos.
