Advert Description

Oxfam Boutique Durham First Edition published by Jonathan Cape, London, 1974. Tear His Head Off His Shoulders is a novel written by Nell Dunn, published in 1974. It tells the story of Jeanette, who has just turned fifty and is still haunted by memories of a failed love affair, when she previously lived in London. She moves from her present home in the country back to London, where she meets up with Queenie, a former prostitute who has also just turned fifty. Queenie engages Jeanette with tales of her own 'salty reminiscences' which are juxtaposed with her own broken memories. Very good copy. Near-pristine dust jacket, minimal wear to edges. Slightly sunned spine. Corners of inner sleeve have been clipped (although this may be as published because the price hasn't been clipped?). Grey boards. Grey upper edge of pages. Gilt text on spine of book. Small scuff on edge of pages. Overall a very nice, near-new copy. See Oxfam website for delivery information
