Description
We are being moved into a second floor flat and are not allowed to take our dog with us, so regretfully he is need of a good new home.Madra is just over 14 months old, housetrained, quiet, placid, fantastic with people, children (he's grown up with 2 teenagers and a baby), other dogs..in fact he is such a good dog that we can't believe that we will ever own a better one ever again..making it even sadder that he has to leave us. He is a big dog, but not expensive to feed or look after. He was given the very best of food while he was growing his big bones and now just needs a good quality food to maintain his condition. He has never been fed scraps or from our plates. Madra likes his comfort and sleeps ( a lot!) on an old duvet that he likes to spend a good few minutes 'arranging' to his liking. He will happily carry this about to wherever he wants to sleep. He has not been allowed on furniture, beds or even in bedrooms since he was a young puppy as it was clear that his size would become an issue as an adult. He is completely trustworthy in the house on his own. He can be noisy, but only when he is asleep...he snores! I think I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times he has barked since we have had him. He has one good walk a day, and is well behaved off lead and on (he can pull if he thinks that you'll put up with it). He loves playing with children and when off lead you have to watch that he does't just bowl up to young children and bowl them over in his enthusiasm. I think it's responsible to put him on the lead when young children are around just because his size can be a bit daunting. Bizarrely, he is brilliant at agility type stuff. He can jump over large fallen trees from a standing start, crawl under them, climb wooden ladder ramps, loves going down children's slides, on roundabouts etc. He has no fear of heights or small spaces and I think with some training would be a good and really fun agility dog, and you'd raise a few eyebrows too I suspect. He loves travelling in the car and has never once been carsick even as a very young pup. You may think that £400 is a lot of money to ask, and I wouldn't disagree with you. He cost us £999, and we have done the expensive bit of growing him to his adult size, so the price we ask now is only to reclaim some of our costs and ensure that Madra is going to a fully committed home. Madra is an intact male, but there is no dominance or aggression in him. Madra is just a big bundle of soppy dog. He loves nothing better than going out to play for a bit and then coming home for cuddles. He's a great family dog, and it's going to be our loss and someone else's gain.
