Published by Hutchinson & Co circa 1900. This collectable and highly decorated hardback, gilt edged edition, is in all the original binding and includes twelve Richard Tod illustrations along with a number of other decorative features. This book is in a very good condition for its age with virtually no bumps on the corners or spine and the pages are hardly dulled. There is a some slight fading to one corner on the back cover. All the pages are well secured to the spine with the exception of one small separation to the middle of the book. A real joy to hold and own. It is inscribed on the inner leaf as a Sunday School Methodist Missionary prize.
Annie Shepherd Swan, Mrs Burnett-Smith (1859-1943) was born in Edinburgh and wrote under the pen name of David Lyall and is the author of many faith inspiring books.
The perfect gift for any book lover and a rare opportunity to purchase a 100 year old book that would grace any bookcase, or even to start a collection with.
