This is a really big painting and I would prefer it if a local person who can travel to see it and take it were involved in this sale as shipping it could be detromental to the work.
The painting seems to be a mix of English and a continental scene, with goats, and mens wearing turbins who seem to be fishing to the right and bottom of the painting, sorry but there is quite a lot of reflection from the glass that covers the painting and it does not show the clarity and sharpness that excists.
20 years ago, someone suggested to me that the large central feature which is well lit and forms a nice focal point in the painting, was "Arthurs Chair", but I don't think so.
If you can tell me where this is I would be delighted.
The painting is in perfect, as good as the day it was painted as it has been under glass, but as you can see by the photographs, the frame has lost some of the moulding which can be easily coppied in plaster, or strip it all and use a nice moulding that can be bought from a diy store.
The painting measures 71 cms x 97 cms, with approxiamately a 10 cm border surrounding the painting.
