Here for sale, we have two stunning reverse paintings on glass in their original frames.
The Japanese subject is spectacular and eye-catching.
Painting this way can be realistic or abstract. Realistic reverse paintings are more challenging to create as one must, for example, in painting a face, to put the pupil of an eye on the glass before the iris, exactly the opposite of normal painting.
Today, reverse hand painted glass has become a new media in the art world and becoming an art collectors choice of investment.
There appears to be a signature on one of the paintings but this is faded and unreadable.
This would need cleaning by an expert to determine any clarity to find the artist name of this work.
The framing appears to show both paintings are from around 1900 to 1910.
Measurements in frame 34cm x 19 cm.
