This is a truly magnificent clock made by William Cromey of Bristol in superb condition measuring 36 inches tall by 25 inches wide with a 16 inch dial. Please don't underestimate the size and weight of this beautiful clock. The case has been professionally restored, as has the dial and the movement which has a passing strike on the hour on a coiled gong (single strike). It has a single fusee movement of very high quality, it has been stripped/cleaned/ properly serviced and fitted with a new mainspring. The maker, William Cromey is listed as making clocks in Bristol from 1845 until 1891 trading as Cromey and son from 1873.
That would date this clock between 1845 and 1873.
