Jelly is a stunning 14.2hh 8yr old Ride and drive Skewbald mare, a real sweet natured horse who loves to be fussed and pampered
In the school: Jelly happily walks and trots and her canter is improving on a daily basis due to her being driven in past home she has not done much cantering. She is no dressage diva, or school mistress. The more she does the better she gets and she is willing and able. She is not a kick along plod ride, she is a forward, fun ride with good brakes! She reacts nicely to the leg, is not sharp and will take a kick.
Hacking: Jelly loves to hack, alone or in company, first or last or in the middle (much prefers up front though). She hacks all our country lanes here and has seen milk tankers, bin men, tractors etc. She hacks past a primary school with children playing ball games outside, she has also seen the busy school traffic on a narrow lane when its collection time!! We have hacked Jelly down our busy B road past Lorries, vans and general busy traffic and she has been brill at all times.
Jumping: Jelly will pop a small course of around 70cm she has a good attitude to jumping and is always trying to get it right. She could really improve with her rider with more schooling.
Driving: We don’t drive, have no equipment and would not know where to start… so have no experience of what she is like to drive.
She has been XC and jumped everything asked of her, she proved bold and brave and remained level headed at all times. She jumped logs, tiger traps, ditches, steps, water jump, roll tops she needs to be ridden to a fence and push on to the next she not one for pulling your arms out. She was also happy to give a lead over a fence or stand and watch another horse jump.
Open Spaces: Jelly enjoys a good canter in open spaces, she is easy to stop, infact getting her going in canter is harder.
She has good brakes and does not fizz up in company. She is more of a follower than a pace setter!
Jelly is ridden in a snaffle at all times.
Manners: Jelly is good to catch, she is in a big field (around 15 acres) with mares and geldings, you just walk up to her. She is normally too lazy to come to you. She is happy in or out of the stable, currently living out. She is easy to tack up, brush, lead etc… she loads easily onto a lorry or trailer first or second and travels very well.. Jelly is also good for the farrier and currently hot shod in front.
Who would Jelly suit? A happy hacking home, fun rides, farm rides and beach rides. If you are looking for a super flash cob who is well schooled Jelly is not for you.
If you want something to enjoy and take out and about for fun and pleasure or then she may be the right lady for you.
