Amazing Roland GR55 Synth, It's well worth doing some proper research on the GR55, not to find out what cannot do but more to find out what it CAN do and how it does it! However,
just as a basic description follows:
The pics are of the actual synth for sale and price includes the following: GR55 Synth, GK3 Pick-up (not shown but included as is hard copy manual) Power supply, GR55 to GK3 special cable, standard guitar, MIDI and patch cables, also 2GB USB stick
Basically the GK3 pickup can be fitted on any guitar without damage (screws etc.) This is not just a synthesizer it is much more: it has 2 synth modules which can be routed individually to the stereo outputs with different sounds, levels and effects then mixed and stored to one of the 99 user patches.
Apart from the 2 synth modules it also features
complete stand alone guitar modelling
which can be
be routed and stored
to either the stereo out or the separate guitar output along with your standard guitar sound, all 4 can then be stored with all levels, FX and individual levels to one of the 99 user patches which can be called up anytime, for instance you can create a patch with strings on synth 1, Brass on synth 2 along with FX, panning and levels and output to the stereo outs (to PA or recording mixer) the guitar modelling plus your standard guitar can be then routed to your normal guitar amp, the limits of configurations are pretty much on your imagination!
Another one of the great features of the GR55 is it's ability to emulate open tunings with the push of a foot-switch, all most common tunings such as open G etc are pre-programmed as factory presets but you can even program and store your own tunings.
Other features include an on-board looper, 900 factory presets and 99 user patches, 2 fully fledged FX units, a small door in the side contains a USB memory which you can store songs on and then play back through stereo outputs using the on-board music player, I found this useful for rehearsals and gigs.
The GR55 can also be connected to laptop/PC and used with Cubase or other DAW set up, this is done via MIDI or USB which are both situated on the back panel, also allows connection to the awesome on line editor and sound library.
pedals are completely programmable to turn stuff on or off, wha wha and volume, you can even hold synth sounds indefinitely. it also has a huge display which can easily be seen even stood up on a dark stage, also 2 tuners selected via footswitch.
The GR55 can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be, you can design your own patches or simply stack and rename factory patches to your user presets in any order you like.
I do have a sound system and guitar amp set up so you can try before you buy, once purchased
I will be happy to go through all the functions with you and answer any questions before you take it away, I am also happy to explain fitting it to your guitar for best results.
