20 Hours Per Month and Annual Leave Cover.
To assist a 30 year old man affected by Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as Brittle Bones to access the community safely to various places and to attend medical appointments, the young man is mentally very alert but has a significant physical disability and is reliant on his motorised powered wheelchair for his mobility.
This post is for 20 hours a month to be worked one to two days per week on Wednesday and Friday for 5 hour shifts and every other Sunday.
Also annual leave cover will be required with some flexibility available. plenty of prior notice given to any additional dates and times required.
The hours will be arranged flexibility to meet the needs of the Employer as follows, Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30 until 2:30 and Sundays 17:00 until 21:00, hours may differ slightly from time to time with some flexibility available.
The Employer, from the Accrington area, will also need help with personal care and will rely on the experience and expertise of his carer to provide this.
Applicants must hold a Clean UK Driving Licence to accommodate the transport of the service user in his specially adapted vehicle (Manual) to various venues with at least 3 years driving experience and must be confident driving on motorways.
The successful candidate should be enthusiastic about the role and provide interesting suggestions for outings, as well as taking into consideration the needs and interests of the service user.
